It all began one Friday evening on September 1995 around 5pm one afternoon after a long day at work. I felt this was my last stop in life for nothing I seemed to enjoy brought me happiness.  I felt I had done it all; I really didn’t want to go back the way I came.  So in desperation I then lay prostrated on my living room floor and seeing that I never experience God. I asked God that many spoke of, to reveal him to me if he was real.  The spirit of the Lord touched me and my life has not been the same.

From that day I could not wait to find a house of God to worship in.  So I sought God just to find out all about him. This lead me to the Spring Valley Church of God, where they would teach the word of God.  A sparked fire began within me, I couldn’t stop myself.  I needed to tell others about the love of Christ and that Christ came for all.  Christ desires none to perish.  This included my own testimony how God has set me free at last.

The mission of love and forgiveness that Jesus Christ left us with began with fellow believers.  They where brought together by God to spread the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the streets of Reading Pa. Especially where no one else wanted to go. Distribution of free Bible where given to anyone I came in contact with.  Many didn’t even own a bible.  Then there was an outcry, several attempted suicides where made by residents at the Reading Emergency Shelter.

In October 1996 to October 1997 per permission of the staff at the reading emergency shelter, testimonials and servitude’s were given. Every Saturday afternoon with the help of Teen Challenge a Christian drug rehabilitation program, the message of hope was given to the homeless and shared the many miracles that God had done.  Many gave their hearts to Jesus and were baptized.

The outcry was still strong. There were many questions. Where to go once the church door are closed? Where can I go when I feel I wanted to end it all? Who will pray with me? I’m lonely, who can I fellowship with that wants to talk about God?  I’m a backslider; do you have a support group?

Clubs, bars, alleyways, Drug houses and live warfare was the only thing available in the dark city street of Reading.  Mentorship support was then given by the Reading Deliverance Church located on Schuylkill ave by Pastor Mr. & Mrs. Buford Simmons who also licensed me as an evangelist. By the grace of Almighty God, in that darkness now shines a light.  A house of prayer for all people.

Testimony is self supporting through contributions and donations.  Currently our needs are bibles, a passenger van.  This is due to the lateness and odd hours and musical equipment.  Our purpose is to continue the mission Jesus Christ began.  To spread the good news of this love and the gift of eternal life.

The Evangelical Center Testimony goals and vision is to be able to keep the door of the open open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and to minister to the needs of the people.  To see churches, families and ethnic groups become united.  For time is urgent.  Jesus Christ is coming soon.

“Last I want to say, thank you Mama for never giving up on me and for your endless prayer to heaven.  Thank you Mama I’m saved! I’m saved in Jesus name.
